And mate, I get it. Because that person is me.
Hi, I’m Shaun from Lemon Tree Films and I’m seriously camera shy. Always have been. My biggest fear in life is public speaking — I’d rather wrestle a kangaroo than stand up and give a speech. So when couples tell me they’re nervous about being on camera, I don’t just sympathise… I’m right there with them. I’ve lived it.
That’s why we’ve built our whole approach around keeping things relaxed and real. We’re not here to turn you into movie stars. We’re here to capture the real you — nerves, laughs and all.
So how do we actually do it?
You’ll barely notice me. Once I start rolling, I basically turn into a wedding ninja. I move quietly, stay out of the way, and I’m definitely not yelling “big smile!” or “do that again!” No one needs that kind of pressure on their wedding day. I’m after the real stuff — the sweet little glances and all the in-between moments.
I can joke around with you like part of the party or just keep pretty quiet.
Some couples love a bit of banter to loosen up. Others would rather I disappear into the background so they can forgot their being filmed. I ‘read the room’ pretty quickly. I can bring out my best dad jokes or pretend I’m part of the furniture. Whatever works for you!
I’ll happily have a drink with you to celebrate. Honestly, some of the best footage we’ve ever got happened while we just chilling and chatting during drinks or while getting ready when it just feels like you’re just hanging out with another mate.

We’re not into forcing big reactions or staging fake moments. That stuff always looks awkward anyway. Instead, we create space for the real stuff to happen. Yeah, the nerves might still show up (they do for most people), but we’ll help you ease through them so you can actually enjoy your day without ever stressing about the camera.
We’ve filmed heaps of ‘introverts’ and nervous couples. Couples that had said, “please don’t make us do anything weird” and every single time, they watch their film they say the same thing:
“OMG! Look how much fun we’re having at our wedding?! ….Like ACTUALLY having!”
That’s the reaction we love. Because your wedding film shouldn’t feel like a performance. It should feel like jumping back into the best day of your life — full of real laughs, proper tears, and those “pinch me” moments.
