Watch a whole film because the trailer is lying to you.

Trailers are great. Thirty seconds of golden light, a sharp laugh, a vow that lands. Attention-grabbing — but also misleading.

The trailer is lying to you. It shows you that we can find pretty but it doesn’t show you whether we can sit still long enough for the bits that actually matter.

Trailers almost never have room for the ordinary stretch — the chatter between speeches, the kid who sits down halfway up the aisle, the look that was not aimed at a camera. But that stretch is where a film either holds or falls apart.

So here is our very sincere request: watch a whole film.

Not the vertical snack… The film. The grins, the side conversations, the bits that couldn’t make the thirty-second cut… because if a film only works when it is chopped into fifteen-second bites, it was never a film, it was just an advert.

Short clips sell. Long films show the craft — and whether you actually want us in the room.

If the full film makes you restless, there are excellent snack-makers out there. But if you find yourself rewinding a laugh that was not staged for the camera… you already know what to do next.
