Most wedding content you see online makes everything look perfectly choreographed, as if the wedding was directed like a Hollywood blockbuster with lights, cameras, and way too much action.

But that’s not how we roll at Lemon Tree Films and we thought it might help if we pulled back the curtain and showed you exactly what a real day with us looks like — no fancy production, just me (Shaun) doing what I do best: reading the room so you can actually live it up.

Before the Day: Prep That Makes Everything Flow

We don’t rock up cold. We come on time (or early) and we’ve already asked all the big questions beforehand — who’s important to you, any family dynamics we should be aware of, what moments you’re most excited about and so on. That way I can anticipate things and be in the right spot without needing to bug you on the day. Preparation means I’m ready for every situation with the right gear, so nothing catches us off guard.

The Morning: Getting Ready (No Pressure, Just Vibes)

I’ll float around quietly, staying discreet so you barely notice the camera. I’m after the real stuff: the giggles while someone does your hair, the quiet moment when you read a note from your partner, or your mates cracking jokes that have everyone in stitches. If you’re the shy type (mate, I feel you), I’ll keep things even lower key. I read the room fast — Sometimes I’m basically invisible, other times I’ll step in with a bit of direction, a high five, or a joke to loosen things up. Whatever helps you be you.

The Portraits & Couple Time: Fun, Not Forced

I keep this bit efficient and low-pressure. Put some music on, have a few drinks with your crew, and just have fun. I don’t want to capture you awkwardly standing for posed photos — I’m constantly chasing smiles and shooting the in-between moments because that’s where the real stuff lives. You’ll get a mix of natural candids and any formal shots you want, but the vibe is always relaxed.

The Reception: The Real Party Starts

Once the formalities are done, I’m in ninja mode. I read the room for what’s about to unfold — that spontaneous dance, the emotional speech — I’m already there. Low light? I handle it discreetly. I’m catching the laughter, the group hugs, the kids running around, and those quiet-corner moments.We don’t pack up early - And yeah, I might even grab a quick drink with you if the vibe’s right because some of our favourite footage has come from just chilling and chatting like mates.

After the Day: The Film That Lasts

TJ and I pour hours into crafting your film — cinematic, story-driven, with colour grading that makes everything feel warm and nostalgic. It’s the kind of thing you’ll pull on every anniversary, show your future children, or watch when you just need a reminder of how bloody good that day was. We’ve had couples come back years later saying their film means even more then.
